Compliance as Culture, Not Just Software
Software records what people do. Culture decides what they do.
A good system makes the right thing visible. It cannot make anyone look. Scope status on a record, a validation report, an audit trail: all of these help only if somebody reads them.
Teams that handle compliance well tend to share a few habits:
- Raising a problem early is normal, not embarrassing. An error found in week one costs far less than the same error found at submission.
- Checks are small and regular, not heroic and annual.
- Everyone knows what "done" looks like for a record, not just the person who built the process.
- Reviews ask what the process allowed, not who made the mistake.
If your team hides small errors until they are big, no tool will fix that. If your team surfaces them quickly, even a modest tool goes a long way.
The practical test: when did someone last tell you about a mistake before you found it yourself?
